Modern Foreign Languages
Our French curriculum offers an engaging and progressive learning journey from Year 3 to Year 6, designed to inspire a love for languages and develop essential communication skills. Through themes that connect to students' interests and everyday life, we use interactive and creative methods such as songs, rhymes, and role-playing tasks to bring the language to life.
- Year 3 introduces foundational topics like numbers, greetings, and everyday vocabulary. Students explore French through lively songs and rhymes, making learning fun and memorable.
- Year 4 builds on this foundation with themes such as pocket money, food, and weather. Role-playing activities and practical conversations help students develop confidence in speaking and sentence construction.
- Year 5 expands linguistic and cultural knowledge with topics like healthy eating, musical instruments, and grammar rules. Songs and role-play scenarios are used to strengthen oral and written skills.
- Year 6 culminates with advanced, real-world topics such as setting up a café or discussing current events. Students use their skills creatively in role-playing tasks, presenting ideas, and participating in interactive discussions.
Throughout the curriculum, students immerse themselves in French culture, develop accurate pronunciation, and acquire tools to confidently communicate in real-world scenarios. This comprehensive program ensures a strong foundation for lifelong language learning.
