Geography

At Fair Oak Junior School, our Geography curriculum is designed to inspire curiosity about the world and its people while building essential knowledge and skills progressively across year groups. Through engaging lessons, pupils explore key geographical concepts, including continents, countries, counties, and cities, as well as the physical and human features of different places. Our approach integrates learning across subjects, such as computing, English, and maths, and emphasises values like respect, diversity, and citizenship. With a focus on cultural understanding and critical thinking, children develop the skills to investigate, reflect, and participate actively in their communities. Regular assessments and retrieval practices ensure every child is supported and challenged, fostering a lifelong fascination with the world around them.
