Governors
The Role of Governors
Governors play an important role in making sure that our school provides the best possible education for all our students. At Fair Oak Junior School, our Governors work alongside the Headteacher and staff to help guide the school and ensure everything runs smoothly. Here are some of the key roles Governors have:
-
Support and Challenge: Governors support the school’s leadership team and challenge them to make sure the school is improving and meeting its goals.
-
Setting the Vision: Governors help set the overall direction and goals for the school, making sure they align with the needs of our students and community.
-
Making Decisions: Governors make important decisions about things like the school budget, policies, and the staff team to ensure the school is safe, fair, and effective for everyone.
-
Monitoring Progress: Governors regularly review how well the school is doing and make sure progress is being made. They look at results, feedback, and reports to see how things can be improved.
-
Ensuring Accountability: Governors hold the school leadership team accountable for the decisions they make and how well the school is doing in providing a high-quality education.
Our Governors are volunteers who care about the school and its future, bringing their knowledge, skills, and experience to help create the best environment for our students to learn and grow.
