Vision and Values
We firmly believe that positive relationships are the key to success at Fair Oak Junior School. By creating an environment that values positive relationships, we know this can act as a driver for academic success. From the moment children start with us, we seek to help our children learn in a nurturing, empathetic and respectful environment.
We are committed to empowering our children to be successful learners, who demonstrate a willingness and readiness to learn. We want our pupils to make progress as well as showing respectful behaviours and attitudes towards others.
We also recognise that for some children they may need some extra support developing these skills. Therefore we adopt a restorative practice to help children understand how to be successful in the challenges they face and recognise that we are all accountable for our behaviours. We aim to help our children understand that through effective communication, which displays empathy and self-reflection, we can all achieve positive results.
Our overall vision and aims are:
- Help everyone to enjoy learning and achieve success
- Provide a safe and caring place where everyone is valued and respected
- Expect the highest standards in work and behaviour
- Promote healthy lifestyles
- Encourage everyone to make positive contributions in school and the wider community
- Prepare for the opportunities, responsibilities and experiences of life
- Encourage partnership between children, parents, staff, governors and the community
- Raise Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural awareness and develop respect for everyone regardless of cultures or religions
- Provide the highest standards of teaching, learning and care in a broad and balanced curriculum
- Develop confident, independent learners
