PE and Sport Premium

At Fair Oak Junior School, we recognise the importance sport and exercise can play in a child's life. We feel very fortunate to have extensive grounds, including playgrounds and a large field, which are excellent for the teaching of PE. Each child has two hours of PE in their timetable which is taught by one of our specialist sports teachers / coaches and covers a wide range of sporting activities.

Additionally, the school participates in a variety of sporting competitions organised by our School Games Organiser as well as other local and regional competitions. When children represent the school, they are awarded caps which are collated across the school.

Schools are required to publish information on their website about their effective and sustainable use of the Primary PE and Sport Premium funding. The funding is used to make additional and sustainable improvements to the quality of PE and sport offered at the school. With the funding, there are five key indicators that schools should expect to see improvement in. These can be seen in the image below.

You can see Fair Oak Junior School's published report below which includes:

  • The amount of funding received
  • A breakdown of how it has been spent
  • The impact seen on pupil's participation and attainment in PE and Sport
  • How this improvement will be sustained
